Dan "The Automator" Nakamura's Score to Olivia Wilde's Booksmart - Hits theaters May 24th

This Friday, May 24th, the film Booksmart, directed by Olivia Wilde, will be released worldwide featuring an original score by Dan "The Automator" Nakamura. Two versions of the soundtrack will be released through Lakeshore Records, one which includes various artists on vinyl being released exclusively at Urban Outfitters and the other will be digitally available on the day the film hits theaters. The film is a coming of age story following two academic students and best friends who, during their high school graduation, realize that most of their high school may have been spent taking school too seriously and possibly missing out on the fun of those four years. They decide to cram four years of fun into one night to discover more about themselves than they could have anticipated.

An excerpt from mxdwn.com Dan says quote, "Working on Booksmart with Olivia was an amazing experience," Nakamura stated in a press release. "With the release of the soundtrack, people can get an insight on the score and an expanded look at where some of the tracks could end up outside the context of the film."

In response, director and music curator, Olivia Wilde has mentioned in The 405 article that, "Collaborating wtih Dan Nakamura on our score was an enormous honor, and I'm elated to announce the digital release of our score. Dan is a creative genius who added multiple dimensions to our film through his complex, emotional, and beautiful compositions. He is very much a part of the DNA of Booksmart, and I'm extremely proud to have partnered with him on this labor of true love."

Not to mention, of 43 critics, Rotten Tomatoes has rated the music from the film at a perfect 100 percent.
